Another year gone by since college… since Ultima Online… since Enemy Territory…
I look back on my years in high school and college as the Golden Era of my gaming alter ego and I’m sure a lot of you do the same thing (though I know some of you still find a decent amount of time to play these days).
T’was the year of the Lich King. Most of us are still involved with World of Warcraft in some way or another. A small group of us out of Orlando play on Skullcrusher while most of the DieIRL community now resides on Kel’Thuzad. It’s the closest semblance to group play that we’ve had since the UO and ET era.
On a more positive note, you’re still coming to the website to check up on things once in a while, if you’re reading this message! That is definetly something.
I’d like to thank everyone who made it out to Orlando back in August (see the only video taken). I hope those of you who did make it had a good time… I know I enjoyed having you all. My only regret is that we’re not still connecting like we did back when we played UO. We need a game like UO that we can all log onto and play as a team. A game that is open and doesn’t have to be 2v2 or 3v3 or 5v5. A risk versus reward PvP system game. I haven’t lost hope, though.
I have not lost hope! As I get older and my tastes in games get more and more specific, I still blow out my birthday candles and dream of x-fielding some poor helpless miner in wonderful, smooth, 3-dimensional glory. Here again, I’m sure a lot of you do the same thing.
Three cheers for 2011! May it bring prosperity and happiness to everyone. May it also bring an excellent new game title that we all enjoy and play together (on the same server).
